I am a portrait and documentary photographer and trained at Bournemouth College of Art and Design and UWE Bristol University. My work has been shown in The National Portrait Gallery in London and Edinburgh and is part of the permanent photographic collection of the city of Birmingham Library.
The work contained in this web site is part of a ongoing body of work which explores the lives of those who volunteer, visit and work on the Severn Valley Railway in England. The preserved railway is one of Britain's most successful preserved railways and relies heavily on volunteers who share their diverse skills and passion to keep the railway running. Many have dedicated much of their lives to restoring, maintaining and operating the railway and without their skills and knowledge which encompasses a vast range of civil engineering and operational challenges the railway would quite literally run out of steam. The work herein will go towards creating a new photographic archive for the railway and to serve as a record of those who travel from all parts of the country and beyond to take part in the operational and engineering endeavours that make the Severn Valley Railway a special and unique railway experience.
